Sweet

Sweet tone, great solo - I thought someone was singing at first, your guitar sounds that good.

CyriltheWolf responds:

Wow, thanks.

Smooth the sweetness with reverb sustain?

Yeah, it didn't seem off key to me; I liked it, very nice.
The vocals have sort of a different sound than the instruments, a different atmosphere - dryer, crisper. What if you put more reverb and echo or something on the beautiful voice to make the vocals seem to be in the same place as the rest of it, to melt them out over everything and stretch them out, and make the vocals fill up all that space even more than they do, and surround the listener. I sort of feel like the singing is dwarfed a little by the accompaniment. Just an idea - it's great as is.

MaestroRage responds:

Yeah, I know. Ragey was actually the one who wanted to polish the voice and make it sound the way he wanted it to (he hates it when I add my own special effects =/ ). Anyway, yeah, I get what you mean. It's a good idea indeed. Thanks for listening!

Cool

I really like the sound of all your voices, really nice - the melody and beat don't sound like the same old thing to me at all, they're interesting and original. I don't think it's overly repetitive - sounds just about right to me. I can't say I noticed these alleged flaws, but then again I don't know much about this style of music.

flaws responds:

Gah, too many people saying flaws.

Cool

That bass part is pretty good, dark and heavy; I don't like some of the voices you used, especially the snare - it just sounds cheap. Man, I always get frustrated at the crappiness of the drum sounds available whenever I go to use them. The sound at 1:29 is bland and cheap to my ears also. Otherwise, pretty well put together.

SonicJ responds:

Would you happen to know where I could aquire some better snare samples :( ?
If you do, that would be awsome thanks for the review. I have to agree though, I was pretty unhappy with the snare myself.

Interesting

Solid bass; I like what you did with the reverb on that wood-block sounding drum at about 1 minute. There's a pretty nice variety, but I wouldn't have repeated each patern for as long as you did.

explode-a-tom responds:

ya i never realized that the song was going to be that long.

Interesting

I agree that the main tetris melody could be better; but to me, this song does a lot of real cool stuff that the bike song doesn't.

snayk responds:

I think I see what you're talking about. I assume you're referring to all the glitching going on. I only began experimenting with it a while after my Punch-Out! mix, but ever since, it's been a technique I commonly employ within my songs (mainly because it just sounds so cool).

Thanks for the review!

Nice

I listen to this, and I think, "When did so many great musicians get on Newgrounds?" Enjoyed it, thanks.

kchrules responds:

Your welcome. And thanks

Love it!

This really is some awesome stuff, I can really groove to this - yeah, I guess this review isn't helping you much; could you tell me, though, what kind of software you used in making this?

MackerelSalad responds:

it's all sequenced in fruityloops.
